 On 18-20 June 2010, our colleagues at Inner Temple will be hosting a conference on Democracy and Law. The event will feature lectures and panel discussions given by judges, barristers and academics from around the globe and will be hosted by The Rt Hon Lord Justice Laws, Treasurer of Inner Temple. Inner Temple have kindly offered to make available 10 free places for student members of Middle Temple.

 It's been a busy and exciting year for the Middle Temple Student Association. While the newest cohort of Middle Temple students have been hard at work on their academic or vocational courses, and steeling themselves for the next round of pupillage applications, the MTSA has sought to support their efforts with its array of advocacy activities, social events and support programmes.  The speed moot makes a welcomed return to Middle Temple. This year’s competition will take place on Sunday 20th June 2010. All Middle Temple students are welcome to take part, from undergraduates to BVC. Speed mooting offers the opportunity to moot without the lengthy preparation – no skeleton arguments to begin with. Mooters will be emailed two moot question and a full list of relevant authorities, passages in text books, journals etc at least 24 hours before the competition. On the... |

 We need you!! The MTSA kindly ask for student members to volunteer to time keep for this year’s Rosamund Smith Mooting Cup. The role is simple but will give students the enviable opportunity to meet Benchers at the Inn and listen to extensive feedback on advocacy and mooting. You only have to commit to time keep once.  With the semi-finals approaching in June, the Rosamund Smith Mooting Cup is well underway, with mooters having so far far tackled topics as diverse as damages in clinical negligence and the extent to which a Judge may make comments on the defence case in his or her summing up. The moot questions this year have been challenging and the standard of mooting exceptional.
